One of the things that drives me crazy about blogs ( including mine ) is that people don't keep them up to date! Yikes, can't believe I am just now posting about our Buckhorn Cabin... we bought it almost 2 years ago ( shame on me )! :) The Buckhorn is one of the nicest, 2 bed / 2 bath log cabins we have seen in Maggie Valley. AWESOME views! We say it's like 'Living The Dream' because it is true Smoky Mountain log cabin, yet with all the conveniences of home! And even better, it is within walking distance from our Treehouse Cabin. The two cabins are perfect for larger family group get together's. This is a digital painting I did of our Treehouse Cabin in Fall! It was done after we finished adding completely new decks and new roof. Fall is one of the best times to visit Maggie Valley! The view is even better looking toward the mountains from our decks!

We love both of our cabins because each is a very different mountain experience yet they are almost next door to each other. The Smoky Mountains, and particularly Maggie Valley, offer some of the most beautiful places to visit in the country. The climate is not too hot, not too cold, the people are friendly and there are many things to enjoy from scenic mountain drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway, to hiking the Smokey Mountains, fishing, waterfalls, photography, painting, Asheville, the Biltmore, Cherokee and more. Since we're not there full time we decided to share with others looking for a peaceful mountain getaway.
